JUDY REDFERN (nee Ward) Judy was considered at only 10 years of age to be one of the most gifted young ballerinas in Australia. Many fine critics and dance professionals even went as far as to suggest that Judy was possibly the most exciting young dancer Australia had ever produced . Audiences fell in love with her - critics raved about her - and the most experienced adjudicators applauded her flawless technique. Ms Shirley Jones, who to this day remains one of Judy's greatest mentors, made it very clear that she considered Judy to be something very special indeed. Ms Jones, a former principal with the renowned National Theatre Ballet Company and a Cecchetti Examiner, commented on the bright young student's examination paper that she had never before seen a more promising student. Ms Jones added that she looked forward to seeing Judy grace the stages of the world as a principal with the Australian Ballet Company. Judy's teacher, the eminent and celebrated Ms Mary Stuart Jamieson, a former principal of the Royal Ballet. agreed with Ms Jones assessment of Judy completely, and considered Judy to be an exceptionally gifted young dancer, and the best student she had ever taught. Today, after many years as a professional dancer, Judy is very highly regarded by the Royal Academy of Dance for her service to classical ballet and is a former member of the RAD Victorian Panel. Judy continues to be the envy of many of her peers due to her boundless energy and renowned management and artist development skills. Judy's expertise in dance and business management are a fantastic asset to the ASA, and she looks forward to assisting more and more young ASA dancers and entertainers to reach their full potential and realise their dreams.
