  • What payment methods do you offer?

We offer all methods of payment - cash, credit card, eftpos, business cheque and monthly direct debit. ASA's preferred method of payment for tuition fees is via monthly direct debit and this payment method is a part of our Thank You Rewards system at the ASA.  Not only is the monthly direct debit payment very convenient for students in that it offers them a set and forget method of payment; it also offers students huge discounts on private and group classes.

  • Do you offer family discounts?

Yes, we certainly do. In addition to the wonderful discounts already offered via our Thank You Rewards system explained in question 1 above, we also offer huge family discounts via our ASA Advantage Club, as a reward to members of a family who take multiple specially marked classes on our timetable each week. These classes are in dancing, singing and acting and are marked with a smiley face. How it works is that the first 4 classes are paid at the normal class price and then an unlimited amount of smiley face classes can be taken at a huge 50% discount. The more classes you take, the more you save!! This incredible budget friendly offer from the ASA makes studying performing arts extremely affordable for families with a brood of budding young entertainers who want to do it all.

  • I want to be on Jamie’s television show, how do I go about it?

That's great news. The television show is filmed in Melbourne and is exclusive to ASA students, so, you would have to reside here or be happy to make your way to the ASA headquarters for weekly rehearsals and lessons. Once you join the ASA for weekly classes, Jamie will audition you. If your audition is successful, an ASA assistant will help take you through all you need to know in relation to rehearsals, costuming, film dates and permits, etc.

  • What other performance opportunities do you offer and how can I take part in them?

The ASA is all about building self-confidence in it's students through first class performance skills training, and once students have begun to learn these skills in class, the ASA encourages them to bring them to life via live performances. Our very own dynamic performance group rehearses and then presents fantastic live performances at local shopping centres and events around Melbourne.  Weekly rehearsals are offered on our timetable and we recruit from our current students.  We recruit all year round so check your regular emails regarding audition notices or inquire direct with the ASA at any other time.

  • I wish to know if you offer examinations and assessments?

Yes, we certainly do. We offer examinations and/or assessments in all classes except munchkin levels and starmaker classes. The average examination costs in the performing arts marketplace today currently stand at approximately $50.00 per style, and the average assessment is approximately $30.00 per style. At the ASA we are happy to offer this service absolutely FREE of charge as part of our service to you. Students receive a report once they have completed Term 4 as ASA examinations and assessments take place within the last two weeks of each year.

  • What if I start my child and he/she wants to change classes, what do I do?

That's not a problem at all. All you have to do is provide 14 days written notice to us to allow us to take care of all necessary administration work and then we can swap you over to another ASA class (should space be available).

  • Can I transfer classes to other students if I wish?

Yes, that's fine also. If you wish to transfer classes to another student, please give us 14 days written notice to allow us to take care of all necessary administration work and then we can transfer the balance, less administration costs, to the other student.

  • Are there any guarantees that if I change my mind, I can get my money back?

Yes, certainly. The ASA guarantees that should you change your mind within 2 days of initial registration and inform us in writing strictly via our feedback form available from ASA reception, you can exercise the ASA 2 day cooling off period and receive all your money back less any classes taken and a small administration fee - no questions asked.

  • Do you offer concerts and when do they take place?

Yes, we do. We offer two different styles of concerts at the school. They take place at selected professional venues around Melbourne. ASA concerts take place in June (mid year performance) and November/December (dancing, singing and acting - variety performance).

  • Do I have to do sewing of costumes for my child when we join?

No you don't ! The ASA costume bank facility is offered to our dance studnets where you can make regular payments for your professional costumes that are designed and made specifically for each student.  You then get to keep your costume for use in the future.  The cost for each costume is payable via direct debit at a very low cost of $10.00 per month for twelve payments (commencing on 1st January of each year) or in one lump sum payment at the end of Term 1 - there is one costume per dance class or two per Starmaker class.  You do not have to sew.  ASA produces exciting and vibrant concerts, professionally hosted using the best sound and lighting technicians available.  If necessary, ASA is happy to provide accessories for use by ASA dance students participating in the end of year concert for FREE hire and if necessary some more expensive and elaborate costumes maybe hired out of each student's costume bank facility.

  • Where do I get the class uniforms?

You can order directly from us at the time of registration making the commencement of class very easy and convenient. We also offer a second hand service for shoes - also another cost effective way to commence your classes with the ASA. Once your uniform order arrives, we will contact you to come by to pick it up or mail it to you for a small postage and administration charge.

  • I want to be a teacher one day, do you offer employment opportunities through your school?
